Due to the continuous production of copper wire drawing equipment, the speed of wire drawing will gradually become out of sync with annealing. During wire drawing, the uneven and irregular phenomenon of large and small segments of the wire diameter occurs because the traction speed is sometimes fast and sometimes slow. The reasons for this phenomenon are as follows:
The instability of the tension on the wire storage wheel. There may be many places in the production workshop that use air pressure, which will cause the air pressure of the wire drawing machine's air pump to be sometimes high and sometimes low. This also makes the tension of the wire storage wheel unstable. Since the take-up speed is constant, the pulling force on the wire drawing is also non-constant, which may cause the outer diameter deviation of the single wire to be unable to be accurately controlled.
The shaking of the copper wire on the annealing wheel. This makes the copper wire anneal in a state of being sometimes tight and sometimes loose. The current density during annealing is sometimes high and sometimes low, and the strength of the copper wire at a relatively high speed is relatively low. Therefore, it is easy for the copper wire to burn on the annealing wheel, causing the surface of the copper wire to be uneven due to the action of electric sparks.
The long-term use and resulting wear of the main gearbox gears. This can make the speed of the constant-speed wheel for wire drawing not match the traction speed and the take-up speed, thus causing the thinning of the single wire.
Solutions: Lubricate the wire storage wheel well to avoid the reverse friction force on the wire when it runs at high speed, which will cause the wire to be thinned; adjust the tension of the wire well so that the stroke of the wire drawing is always closely attached to the annealing wheel; ensure the integrity of the steel ring of the annealing wheel to avoid unstable annealing current due to surface defects of the steel ring.
Reconfigure the wire drawing machine according to the actual situation: Adjust according to the wire drawing principle. Make the rotation speed of the annealing wheel/rotation speed of the constant-speed wheel = front slip coefficient × diameter of the constant-speed wheel/diameter of the annealing wheel. The diameters of the constant-speed wheel and the annealing wheel are known, and the rotation speed of the constant-speed wheel and the annealing wheel can also be measured. Thus, the front slip coefficient can be obtained. The wire drawing machine can be reconfigured according to the slip coefficient, so that the matched die can meet the requirements.
